What is Herati Saffron?

Herati Saffron is a premium-grade saffron grown in the Herat region of Afghanistan—known for its deep red threads, rich aroma, and high crocin levels that deliver vibrant color and intense flavor.

What makes Afghan saffron special?

Afghanistan’s high altitude, dry climate, and traditional hand-harvesting methods produce saffron that is globally recognized for its exceptional potency, longer threads, and distinct floral notes. It has repeatedly won international awards for quality.

How is your saffron harvested?

Our saffron is hand-picked early in the morning when the flowers bloom. Only the red stigma (threads) are carefully separated and dried under controlled conditions to preserve aroma, flavor, and color.

How should I use saffron?

Soak a few threads in warm water, milk, or broth for 10–15 minutes before adding to your recipe. This helps release its natural color and flavor. It’s perfect for biryanis, desserts, teas, and more.

How much saffron should I use?

A small amount goes a long way. For most dishes, 5–10 threads (or about 0.1g) are sufficient.

How should I store saffron?

Keep your saffron in an airtight container, away from light and moisture. Store in a cool, dry place to maintain its quality and potency for up to 2–3 years.

Is your saffron pure and unadulterated?

Yes. We offer only 100% pure Herati saffron with no additives, dyes, or fillers. Each batch is lab-tested for purity and strength.

Is your saffron ethically sourced?

Absolutely. We work directly with smallholder farmers in Herat, ensuring fair wages, ethical practices, and sustainable harvesting.

Can saffron be consumed daily?

Yes, in small quantities. Many people add it to warm milk or tea for its calming and antioxidant benefits. As with all herbs, moderation is key.

Do I need to open an account in order to shop with you?

No, you don’t need to. You can make purchases and check out as a guest everytime.

However, by setting up an account with us, it will allow you to order without having to enter your details every time you shop with us. You can sign up right now, or you can first start shopping and create your account before you check out at the shopping cart page.

How do I /create an account?

Please click on “Login/Register” followed by ‘Create An Account’ and fill in your personal particulars.

How do I order?

Shop for the items you want and add it to your shopping cart. When you have finished, you can proceed to your shopping cart and check out. Check and ensure that all information is correct before confirming your purchases and payment.

How do I pay for my orders?

We accept payments via Paypal and all major credit and debit cards such as Mastercard, VISA and American Express.

Can I amend or cancel my order?

Yes, you may request to amend or cancel your order within 24 to 48 hours of placing it. After this window, we begin processing and packing to ensure timely delivery, and changes or cancellations may no longer be possible. We recommend reviewing your order carefully before confirming.

I have a discount code, how can I use it?

You can apply your discount code during checkout. Enter the code in the “Discount Code” or “Promo Code” box, then click Apply before completing your purchase. The total will automatically update to reflect your discount.

How will I know if my order is confirmed?

After you have placed your order, you will receive an acknowledgement e-mail from us to confirm that your orders have been received. However, do note that orders will only be shipped when your credit card payment has been approved and billing and delivery address is verified. Alternatively, you may check the status of your order in “My Account” if you are a registered user.

I have problems adding items to my shopping cart?

You will be able to add the items as long as it is available. There could be an instance where the item is in someone else’s shopping cart hence the status of the items is reflected as “Temporarily Unavailable”.
